HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus. The display has a blue screen with an error code B8A2F2E8. The printer is unresponsive and will not shutdown with the power button and must be unplugged. After restarting the printer works correctly for a few days before error reoccurs.

Hi @Mozam1,

Welcome to HP Support Community. This is a great place to post questions and find answers.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are getting blue control panel screen with error code on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911.

Please follow the steps listed below for product reset:

1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. Now check the control panel display.

You may also check the steps in this document.

You may also upgrade the firmware from this link.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

The link to the document you referenced in your reply wasn't a link, just blue text.

I tried the .power reset steps, but the error returned after several hours.

Installing the firmware update seems to have worked. It's been several days now and the error has not reoccurred.

Thanks for the solution.
