I own a Officejet Pro 8625 printer.  I cannot scan documents to pdf.  There is no option for pdf and the documents scan as photos not documents.  After installing Windows 10, I received a message to insert the printer cd that came  with the printer.  I did that but received no other directions.

Hi @dj53,

We do have the option to save scanned file to PDF if we are using HP Printer Assistant application(this is part of the HP printer software)

Hi,

You will need to reinstall the printer drivers back in your system, and also before installing you need to make sure that the previous version is not present. If it is present then uninstall it by going to control panel.

You can also download the software for your printer by going to the following link

Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for posting the question.

Make sure you have uninstalled existing driver for the printer. Go to printers and devices and delete the printer icon.

Now download the full software and install software with full features.  After software installation, you should be able to see the scan to PDF option on the printer.

Alternatively you can launch hp scan application from your PC and choose PDF scan.

Another option is use the EWS using browser. Here is the easy step how to do that.

Ensure that you are using the Full Feature Software from the HP Website( Link Below )

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Officejet-Pro-8620-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/53...

You will not get the option to scan to PDF using Windows Fax and Scan.

Hey there

First of all let make sure you have the printer driver install and able to print. You may download and install the driver from

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8620-e-all-in-one-printer-series/53...

Once the printer is printing, let move on to look at your scan issues. Please let us know how do you activate scan ? Is it from printer front panel OR from the HP Scanning Software ?

Look foward to hear from you.

Thank you, however, still having issues.  I tried reinstalling my printer.  Everything downloads but when I get to attaching the usb, the screen stops and doesn't proceed with further installation directions.
