Hello
I have tried all the steps I have seen on forums. anyone have the ultimate fix? what part to replace?
I had 2 cartridges reach end of life (C & Y) which I replaced only to get the 'supply system problem' message.
I then replace all the cartridges for new, same issue.
Thinking it may be bad cartridges, I replaced them all again with a new set, same issue against same 2 cartridges (C & Y)
Anyone know the final fix for this if the 'remove mechanism and shift side to side technique' or the 'power off' methods don't work?
Thanks

@BillH85red, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The “Supply System Problem” error on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series is typically linked to the ink delivery system — not just the cartridges themselves, but the internal ink supply station, tubing, or printhead. Here's a breakdown of what's likely happening and the final steps you can take:
What This Error Usually Means
- The printer is not detecting ink flow correctly from one or more cartridges (often caused by airlocks, printhead issues, or internal pressure problems).
- Since you’ve already:
Replaced Cyan (C) and Yellow (Y) cartridges — twice,
Tried power cycling and carriage shifting techniques,
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Remove the affected cartridges (Cyan and Yellow in your case).
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer.
- Let them dry completely before reinserting.
Clean Cartridge Vents:
- Check the small vent on top of each cartridge (under the label). Use a pin or paperclip to gently clear any blockages or adhesive residue.
Hard Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips) and turn it back on.
Try a Different Cartridge Batch:
- Even if you've already replaced the cartridges, try using a different batch or source. Some third-party or even faulty HP cartridges can trigger this error.
If none of the above works, the issue may be hardware-related:
- Faulty Printhead: This is a common culprit. If the printhead is damaged or its sensors are malfunctioning, it can misread cartridge status.
- Logic Board or Sensor Failure: Less common, but possible.
