Hi @cmfjames,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 is suddenly printing very slowly, it could be due to several reasons. Here are a few troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the printer is not set to "Draft" mode or a high-quality print setting. These can slow down printing. Go to the printer settings on your computer and adjust to a standard or normal print quality.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated drivers can sometimes cause slow printing. Go to the HP support website, search for your printer model, and download the latest drivers for your operating system.

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart of both the printer and your computer can resolve performance issues.

Check for Printer Firmware Update:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer, as these can improve performance. Go to the printer settings on the printer's control panel and check for updates.

Check for Print Queue:

  • Ensure that there are no stuck print jobs in the print queue. Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any pending print jobs that might be causing delays.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Low ink or toner levels can sometimes cause the printer to slow down. Check your ink levels and replace any low cartridges if needed.

Connectivity Issues:

  • If you are printing over Wi-Fi, try printing through a USB connection to see if the issue persists. Slow or unstable network connections can lead to delays.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on again. This can help reset any temporary issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
