HP OFFICEJET PRO 8600 N911G
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

MY 8600 PRO N911G WAS PRINTING FINE AND IN THE MIDDLE OF A PRINT JOB IT TURN ITSELF OFF.  I PRESSED THE ON BUTTON AND RESTARTED IT.  IT THEN PRINTED VERY POOR QUALITY.   INK LEVEL IS GOOD.  I HAVE CLEANED AND ALIGNED THE PRINTHEADS, UNPLUGGED AND RESTARTED BUT THAT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM.  WE ALSO HAD A WIN 10 UPGRADE ON 8/12/2020.

Hi @lyndonloop,

I'd like to help.

I see that you have tried most of the steps.

Let's try a power reset on the printer

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page-

  1. Load plain white paper into the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow () to display additional options.

  3. Touch Setup (), touch the Down Arrow (), and then touch Reports.

  4. Touch Print Quality Report. The Print Quality Diagnostics Report prints.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
