OfficejetPro 8500A Clear Strap Came Off

HP Recommended
OfficejetPro 8500A
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Officejet Pro 8500A and was clearing a paper jam and a mylar clear strip about a 1/2 " wide and 18" long came off the inside of the printer carriage area.  There is a small hold and each end and an arrow pointing up on the right side where I assume it connects to some point on the inside. Is there a document that shows an exploded view of the inside of the machine so I can put the strap back on?

Thanks

Terry

@terrykemm, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

That is the encoder strip inside the printer. It guides the print carriage to move. This cannot be put back.

As this is a hardware issue, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer. If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
