I changed my wifi password and now my printer is not responding. I've done a troubleshoot and diagnostic, still nothing.

Hi @Sshon

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When you change your Wi-Fi password, your printer can get disconnected from the network, especially if it was previously connected to your old Wi-Fi settings. Here's how you can fix the issue of your printer showing as offline after changing your Wi-Fi password:

1. Reconnect the Printer to the New Wi-Fi Network

Your printer needs to be reconnected to the new Wi-Fi network. Here's how to do that:

Method 1: Wireless Setup Wizard (from the Printer's Control Panel)

Most HP printers, including your model, have a Wireless Setup Wizard that allows you to reconnect the printer to a Wi-Fi network. Follow these steps:

  1. Turn on your printer and make sure it’s powered on.
  2. On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless icon or go to Setup (gear icon) or Network Settings.
  3. Look for the Wireless Setup Wizard option.
  4. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
  5. Enter your new Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  6. Wait for the printer to confirm the connection, and check that the Wireless light on the printer is solid (not blinking).

Method 2: Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

If your router supports WPS, you can connect your printer using this faster method.

  1. Press the WPS button on your router.
  2. On your printer, press and hold the Wireless button for 5 seconds.
  3. The printer will automatically connect to your Wi-Fi network using WPS. When the connection is successful, the Wireless light will stop blinking.

2. Reconfigure the Printer on Your Computer

Once your printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network, you may need to update the connection settings on your computer. Here's how to do that:

For Windows:

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Find your printer in the list (if it’s still showing as offline, remove it first).
  3. Click Remove Device.
  4. Click Add a Printer or Scanner and wait for Windows to find your printer on the network.
  5. Select your printer and click Add Device.
  6. Try printing a test page to verify the connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
