HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw Printer

Printer will not turn on at all. No power light.

Checked the cord, tried a different one. Nothing.

Hi @JENNIFER211,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw won’t power on and shows no lights at all, even after trying a different power cord:

Step 1: Check Power Source

  • Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips or surge protectors).
  • Test the outlet with another device to confirm it works.

Step 2: Inspect Power Cable & Adapter

  • Ensure the cable is firmly connected to the printer and outlet.
  • If possible, try a known working HP-compatible power cord.

Step 3: Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and press the Power button.

Step 4: Check for Signs of Life

  • Look for any LED flicker or fan noise.
  • If completely dead, proceed to the next step.

Step 5: Internal Power Supply Issue

If the printer still does not respond:

  • The internal power supply or main logic board may have failed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
