I have the orange light (i) blinking all the time. All I can print is the information about my printer not being connected to the internet. I have tried everything: switching off the router,  computer and printer, pressing the cancel button and the Wi-Fi on the printer for 3 seconds, looking at the settings on my computer... it has been very frustrating! I even changed my payment card on HP Instant Ink. Can anyone help me, please?

Hi @Marta1000

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m truly sorry you’re facing this frustrating Wi-Fi issue with your HP DeskJet 2710 Series 2. I understand how disruptive it is when the orange light keeps blinking and the printer won’t connect—especially after you’ve already tried everything you could.

Let’s walk through a fresh set of steps to help your printer reconnect to Wi-Fi and get back online:

Step-by-Step Wi-Fi Reset and Reconnection

Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

  • Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer at the same time.
  • Hold for about 5 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking rapidly.
  • This resets the printer’s network settings and puts it into setup mode.

Connect Using the HP App

  • On your phone or PC, make sure you're connected to your home Wi-Fi.
  • Download and open the HP App if you haven’t already.
  • Tap Add Printer and select your HP DeskJet 2710 Series 2.
  • Follow the on-screen steps to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Once connected, the wireless light should turn solid blue.

Check Router Compatibility

  • Ensure your router is set to 2.4 GHz band (not 5 GHz), as the DeskJet 2710 series only supports 2.4 GHz.
  • If your router has both bands, temporarily disable the 5 GHz band during setup.

Use Wi-Fi Direct (Optional)

  • If regular Wi-Fi setup fails, you can print using Wi-Fi Direct:
    • Press the Information button on the printer to print a network configuration page.
    • Look for the Wi-Fi Direct name and password.
    • Connect your device to that network and print directly.

Reference HP’s Setup Guide

Let me know how the printer responds after these steps. If the orange light continues blinking or the app doesn’t detect the printer, I’ll guide you through alternate connection methods.

You're doing everything right, and we’ll get your printer back online.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
