Hi @Brenlemoine

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for already trying multiple steps — I understand how frustrating it is when the printer stays silent despite your efforts.

If your HP Smart Tank 7300 isn’t printing after a power issue, try resetting the printer, checking the connection type, and running a diagnostic tool to restore communication. Power fluctuations can sometimes disrupt internal settings or network sync.

Let’s guide it back to life with a few deeper checks:

1. Perform a Full Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds to allow internal components to discharge.
  • Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors or extension cables).
  • Power it back on and wait for the startup sequence to complete.

2. Check Connection Type

  • If using USB, disconnect and reconnect the cable securely.
  • If using Wi-Fi, confirm the printer is connected:
    • On the control panel, press the Wireless icon
    • If disconnected, go to Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect to your network
  • If using Ethernet, ensure the cable is firmly seated and the router is active

3. Run the Diagnose & Fix Tool

This tool checks for communication issues and repairs them:

4. Clear Print Queue and Restart Print Spooler (Windows)

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter
  • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click and choose Restart
  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  • Right-click your HP Smart Tank 7300 and set it as Default Printer
  • Try printing a test page

5. Update Firmware

6. Print from HP App

  • Open the HP App on your computer or mobile device
  • Go to Printer Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report
  • If this prints successfully, the issue may be with the document or app you were using

If the printer remains unresponsive after these steps, I can guide you through a deeper hardware check or help interpret any error lights or sounds.

You’ve done a great job staying proactive — let’s keep going until your pages flow smoothly again.
