Hi @EnforcerRyan,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating situation. Printers can be finicky sometimes, but there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Check Paper Alignment: Even if the paper seems straight, make sure it's properly aligned in the paper tray. Sometimes, a slight misalignment can cause the printer to think it's out of paper.
- Check Paper Type and Size: Ensure that the paper you're using matches the settings in the printer driver. If the printer is expecting a different paper size or type than what you're using, it might not recognize the paper properly.
- Clean Paper Feed Rollers: Dust and debris can accumulate on the paper feed rollers over time, causing them to slip and not pick up the paper correctly. You can try cleaning the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water.
- Reset the Printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can fix many issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
- Update Firmware/Drivers: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Similarly, ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer.
- Inspect for Jammed Paper: Even if you don't see any visible paper jams, there might be a small piece of paper stuck somewhere inside the printer. Carefully inspect all areas of the printer, including the paper path and the output tray, and remove any debris or stuck paper.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there's a hardware problem with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
