HP Color LaserJet Pro M154a

I was surprised to find out from Hp that there is no service (check/repair) available for a printer once it is out of warranty. I bought a LaserJet Pro M154a with two years extended warranty. I was informed that there will be a 1-to-1 replacement within the warranty period. However, I was not told about no service at all after the warranty expires.

 

I was looking for a printer, home-use with low usage thus not expecting to buy a new printer so often, as what Hp proposes, when it breaks down after the warranty expires. If I had known about this fact, I would not have bought  Hp printer. This information is critical for a customer to make the right purchase decision especially those like me, looking for a printer with low usage meaning longer life span. Now, my printer has broken down and is out of warranty; Hp can only suggest to buy a new printer. Case Number [edit] was created to record the incident i.e. no service , and new purchase recommendation from Hp.

 

This is a lesson learned for me and I would like to share it with those who may not be aware of such Hp servicing policy. 

 

Also, since I am now looking for a new printer, I will intentionally verify if Hp sales personnel will dutifully share with me about no service option after warranty when introducing Hp printers to me.
