Hi @Victor80001,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 530 Smart Tank and HP 1020 printers are stuck on pause and won’t resume printing. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart the Printer and Computer
Turn off both the printer and your computer. Wait for 30 seconds, then turn them back on. This often clears temporary errors that can cause the pause issue.

Check the Print Queue
Open the print queue from your computer (Control Panel > Devices and Printers > right-click your printer > See what’s printing). Right-click any stuck jobs and select Cancel. Sometimes, a single stuck job prevents the printer from unpausing.

Toggle the Pause Setting
In the print queue window, go to Printer in the menu and ensure Pause Printing is unchecked. If it’s already unchecked, try checking it, wait a few seconds, then uncheck it again.

Set the Printer as Default
Ensure the printer you are using is set as the default printer. Right-click your printer > Set as default printer. A printer not set as default can sometimes ignore resume commands.

Restart the Print Spooler Service
On Windows, press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter. Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart. This resets the printing service and can resolve pause issues.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
Outdated or corrupt drivers can prevent the printer from responding. Visit the HP website to download the latest driver for your printer model, install it, and restart your computer.

Check for Network or Connection Issues
If using the printer over Wi-Fi, ensure it is properly connected to the network. For USB printers, try a different cable or port to rule out connection issues.

I hope this helps.
