Hi @Bill765,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Smart Tank 6001 shows a blinking blue light and is offline, it means the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode or has lost its network connection.
Steps to Reconnect Your Printer
1. Confirm Wi-Fi Setup Mode
- A blinking blue light means the printer is ready for setup for 2 hours.
- If it’s been longer, restore setup mode:
- Press and hold the Wireless + Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
- The blue light should start blinking again.
2. Use HP App
- Download HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site.
- Open the app → Tap Add Printer → Follow on-screen steps.
- Make sure:
- Your computer is on the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Bluetooth and Location are enabled on your device.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.
3. Restart Devices
- Restart your printer, router, and computer.
- Move the printer closer to the router.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Go to HP Smart Tank 6001 All-in-One | HP® Support.
- Enter your printer model and install the latest firmware.
5. Remove and Reinstall Printer
- On Windows:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the printer and re-add it using HP Smart.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
