My printer is acting up, it kept showing me an errors of "Out of Paper" when in fact there are papers in there. I tried to clean the sensors, rollers, etc. and it won't work. I also tried to restart, and also reset the printer and still not work. Papers are full, ink also full. I need help, I need to print things out and nothing works.

Hi @_eelanin,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
When your HP printer shows “Out of Paper” even though the tray is full, and you’ve already cleaned sensors, rollers, restarted, and reset, the issue is usually related to paper feed detection or sensor calibration rather than the actual paper supply.
Steps to Fix the “Out of Paper” Error
1. Check Paper Type and Loading
- Make sure you’re using plain white paper (not glossy or thick).
- Align the stack properly:
- No bent, curled, or damp sheets.
- Adjust the paper guides snugly against the stack.
2. Clean Paper Feed Rollers Thoroughly
Even if you cleaned them before, try this:
- Power off the printer.
- Remove the paper tray.
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
- Rotate the rollers manually to clean all sides.
- Let them dry for 10 minutes before reloading paper.
3. Reset the Printer Again
- Unplug the printer while it’s ON.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
4. Update Printer Firmware
Sometimes, firmware bugs cause false “Out of Paper” errors.
- Download the latest firmware from Official HP® Support.
5. Try a Different Paper Size
- Load A4 or Letter-size paper.
- If the error clears, the printer’s sensor may not detect custom sizes correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
