Paper jam, but no paper found.

HP Recommended
OfficeJet 9010
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a paper jam error. Tried the troubleshooting guide in the manual, but the pictures there don't match reality. I don't have a "paper path cover" and do not have a "printer cartridge" cover. Above the paper tray, there is only a drop-down white panel with a 6" square hole that allows access to the printer cartridges.

I can see no paper, no paper pieces, no paper dust, etc. I've power cycled the printer. No joy. I've tried just one piece of paper.  No joy. I can't seem to find a way to cycle the printer (other printer models have this feature so that you can move paper through the printer without actually printing anything. there is no other cover that I can open that allows me any access to the paper path. The document feed section works fine.

I doubt I have more than a hundred pages through this printer. I changed paper type (to a heavier paper) this morning and have had nothing but trouble since. I cannot clear the error.

Please help.

Welcome to the HP support community.

If you have tried all the steps mentioned in this HP document:- Click here

Still, if the issue persists, this could be a hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.
