Hi @Janv25df,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Error 05 on an HP LaserJet MFP typically indicates a paper jam or a problem with the paper feed mechanism. If you can't see any visible paper jam, try these steps to resolve the issue.

Check All Paper Paths:

  • Open all doors and trays to ensure there are no pieces of paper stuck inside.
  • Look inside the fuser area and any other accessible areas for any jammed paper or small debris.

Remove and Reinsert Paper Trays:

  • Take out all paper trays and check for any jammed paper or debris.
  • Reinsert the trays securely, making sure they are properly aligned.

Inspect the Paper Feed Rollers:

  • Clean the paper feed rollers using a lint-free cloth and some water or a mild cleaner. Dust and debris on the rollers can cause paper jams.
  • If the rollers are worn out, you may need to replace them.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Ensure there are no foreign objects or small pieces of paper stuck in the paper path or inside the printer.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for a few minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes, resetting the printer can clear the error code.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model on the HP website and apply it if necessary.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • If the issue persists, try performing a hard reset according to your printer’s manual or HP support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
