Hi @Landis1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve the paper mismatch issue with your HP DeskJet Plus 4155:
1. Check Paper Settings:
- On the Printer:
- Open the paper tray and make sure that the paper is properly aligned.
- Ensure the paper type and size settings on the printer match the paper loaded.
- In HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your iPhone or laptop.
- Go to Printer Settings or Print Preferences.
- Verify that the paper size and type settings in the app match the paper in the tray.
2. Update Printer Firmware and Software: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Via HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your device.
- Select your printer and check for any available firmware updates. Follow the instructions to update.
- Via HP Website:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your printer model and download the latest firmware and drivers.
- Install the updates on your laptop.
3. Check Printer Driver Settings:
- On Windows 11:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your HP DeskJet Plus 4155 and click Manage.
- Click Printer Properties and check the paper size and type settings under the Advanced tab.
- Ensure they match the settings in the HP Smart app and the paper in the printer.
4. Perform a Printer Reset:
- Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check if the issue persists.
5. Check Paper Type and Quality:
- Make sure you are using the recommended paper type and quality for your printer.
- Avoid using wrinkled, damaged, or non-standard paper sizes.
6. Remove and Reinsert Paper:
- Remove the paper from the tray.
- Gently fan the paper stack to prevent paper from sticking.
- Reload the paper, ensuring it’s properly aligned and within the paper guides.
7. Reconfigure Paper Settings:
- On the Printer Control Panel:
- Access the printer settings directly from the control panel (if available) and reconfigure the paper settings.
8. Test Print:
- Try printing a test page from the HP Smart app or from your laptop to check if the issue is resolved.
