Hi @Landis1,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve the paper mismatch issue with your HP DeskJet Plus 4155:

1. Check Paper Settings:

  • On the Printer:
    • Open the paper tray and make sure that the paper is properly aligned.
    • Ensure the paper type and size settings on the printer match the paper loaded.
  • In HP Smart App:
    • Open the HP Smart app on your iPhone or laptop.
    • Go to Printer Settings or Print Preferences.
    • Verify that the paper size and type settings in the app match the paper in the tray.

2. Update Printer Firmware and Software: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Via HP Smart App:
    • Open the HP Smart app on your device.
    • Select your printer and check for any available firmware updates. Follow the instructions to update.
  • Via HP Website:
    • Go to the HP Support website.
    • Enter your printer model and download the latest firmware and drivers.
    • Install the updates on your laptop.

3. Check Printer Driver Settings:

  • On Windows 11:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    • Select your HP DeskJet Plus 4155 and click Manage.
    • Click Printer Properties and check the paper size and type settings under the Advanced tab.
    • Ensure they match the settings in the HP Smart app and the paper in the printer.

4. Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Hard Reset:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
    • Check if the issue persists.

5. Check Paper Type and Quality:

  • Make sure you are using the recommended paper type and quality for your printer.
  • Avoid using wrinkled, damaged, or non-standard paper sizes.

6. Remove and Reinsert Paper:

  • Remove the paper from the tray.
  • Gently fan the paper stack to prevent paper from sticking.
  • Reload the paper, ensuring it’s properly aligned and within the paper guides.

7. Reconfigure Paper Settings:

  • On the Printer Control Panel:
    • Access the printer settings directly from the control panel (if available) and reconfigure the paper settings.

8. Test Print:

  • Try printing a test page from the HP Smart app or from your laptop to check if the issue is resolved.

Refer to this document:  HP DeskJet Plus 4155 All-in-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
