HP Smart Tank 7001
Microsoft Windows 11

Every time I print a photo on my HP Smart Tank 7001, there is a tab left of the bottom of the page. The printer is capable of printing borderless up to 8.5X11. I am trying to print a 5x7 image but have been unsuccessful. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It does the same thing when I try to print 4x6 images. I've tried changing all of the settings but nothing seems to be fixing it. I even uploaded to an image sizing website that says the image is 5x7.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

Review the various setups later in this message (References / Resources).

For example, Some of what you can do is controlled by what the printer allows for Borderless Printing options - paper type might play a factor.

Consider the software / application you are using to open, view, configure, and submit the job to the printer.

The software or application -- and perhaps whether you have installed the Full Feature Software -- play a part in how the image appears when printed on paper.

For example,

Which software / application are you using?

What are the settings for Scaling, Paper Size, Image / Photo Size?

What is the paper type?

The size of the image in pixels impacts how the image is printed on the paper at 100%.

Resizing while maintaining the aspect ratio (shape) can create white spaces if the shape of the original image does not match the shape of the paper.

Examples

HP Smart - Windows - Simple Photo Print - 5x7 - Borderless

Scaling = Crop

NOTES

Scaling

Crop creates even borders around the photo.

Portions of the original content might be cut (lost) when the shape of the photo is forced to match the shape of the paper.

-------------------------------------------------

Shrink to fit retains the content and shape of the original photo.

Shrink option can result in uneven border(s)
