I have a HP Photosmart b110a.
After start up the display shows: "ink system error 0xc19a0020, Switch off and on the printer".
I changed all cartridges, but nothing changes.
Since I have another fault B110A printer, I took the printhead and mounted in the other.
Now the error has disappeared but I don't have all cartridges seen as ok. (One or two or three -random- ar not seen, so I can't arrive to the main menu).
???Please can you tell me how can I reset the printer so hoping that cartridges work???
Pleas don't send me to the technical support because Guarantee has expired may years ago...
Thank you

Finally the printer works.
How did I succeed?
I went in the main menu and selected 'Settings'.
The only option possible was to clean the printhead, so I did.
Then I selected 'alignement'.
Now the printe works with no error !
Thanks for help.

After many cartridge changes the situation now is:
1) After sturt up the display says: All cartridges are not HP. Press OK (it's right because cartridges are not original)
2) I press ok and it goes to the main menu
3) the Printer is disconnected from any PC, but if I try to print the setup page or make a copy, this error appears:
"Ink system error 0xc19a0013. Switch off end on the printer."
I switch off and on but everything remains exactly the same. How can I overcome this issue?

Hi @paolo8,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're dealing with an issue where the printer isn't recognizing some of the cartridges properly, even after swapping the printhead. Here's a set of steps you can try to reset your HP Photosmart B110a printer and hopefully resolve the issue with the cartridges:
Steps to Reset the Printer:
Turn off the Printer:
- Press the power button to turn the printer off. Wait for it to completely power down.
Unplug the Printer:
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds. This will ensure a full reset of the printer's memory.
Remove the Cartridges:
- Open the printer's cartridge access door and carefully remove all the ink cartridges.
Re-seat the Printhead:
- Remove the printhead and carefully re-seat it, ensuring it is properly installed and seated. Sometimes a slight misalignment can cause the cartridges not to be recognized.
Reinstall the Cartridges:
- Reinstall the ink cartridges one by one, making sure each one clicks into place securely.
Plug the Printer Back In:
- Plug the printer back into the power source and turn it on.
Perform a Printer Reset:
- Once the printer powers on, check if the display still shows any error messages.
- If the cartridges are not being recognized, try removing and reinserting them again while the printer is on.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Sometimes the printer can have firmware issues that affect cartridge recognition. You may want to check HP's website for any available firmware updates for your HP Photosmart B110a.
Additional Troubleshooting:
- Ensure Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure the cartridges you're using are compatible with the printer. Sometimes, even genuine HP cartridges can cause issues if they are expired or incorrectly installed.
- Check Cartridge Contacts: Examine the metal contacts on both the ink cartridges and the printhead for any dirt or debris. Use a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with water to clean them if needed.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, there might be a deeper hardware problem with the printer's cartridge detection system or the printhead. However, this reset process should help to clear any temporary errors.
Let me know how it goes!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Unfortunatelly, nothing has changed.
I noticed that to complete the first 3 steps, I am forced to unplug the printer with the cover opened, or else I can't remove the cartridges. So it is not correct to switch off with the power button.
At this point I have the same results as before.
When, after a few attempts, I succeed in having all cartidges recognized (even if as 'not HP') I press OK an arrive in the main menu.
After that, every attempt of printing ends with 'ink system error 0xc19a0013. Switch off and on the printer'.
What does 0xc19a0013 mean? Is there a legend of error codes?
Is it possible that this behaviour is due to a 'Dynamic security' that I read in the internet is applied to some printers?
Can I change the motherboard of the printer (I have another identical pronter) or change its firmware to solve the issue?
