Trouble pulling 12x12 paper through.  Pulls through and no print.  Push paper through again and sounds like printing but no print.  Thanks

Since the device is out of warranty, and we've concluded that this is a hardware malfunction, I may have a few pointers/suggestions to help you out, however, since these suggestions are limited to you and your printer alone, I'd like to send out a private message with those details.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

@Bigpurplefan, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'd like to know the following-

  • What happens when you print on regular paper?
  • Did you make any changes to the printer recently?
  • Are you able to make a test print on the printer?

If you're able to print fine on other media, you can try steps from An 'Out of Paper' error displays, the printer does not pick paper to isolate and resolve the issue.

Also, you can check the settings on the computer to ensure correct selection paper and tray. Refer to the document HP Printers - Print Settings Guide (Mac) for help.

Keep me posted.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner.  Was waiting for a new print head and all new cartridges (took long time to receive during these crazy times).  Now getting printhead problem message.  Have tried hard reset.  This is an older B8550 that I hadn't used for a while.  The problem not printing was on 8.5x11 paper also.  I always check paper size on document and printer screen.  I am a senior citizen and not tech savvy.  I so appreciate your help as I am soooooo bored and I have spent a lot of money on this issue.  Best to you
