Hi @Intructor2024,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When dealing with printer issues like the one you're experiencing with your HP Officejet Pro 8600 showing an "Error, Printing, in queue" message, here are a few more steps you can try to resolve the problem:
Restart Everything:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Restart your computer or the device from which you are trying to print.
- After a minute or so, reconnect and turn on the printer.
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. This could be via USB, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi.
- If connected by Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is still connected to the correct network and check the signal strength.
Clear Printer Queue:
- Go to the 'Printers' section in your control panel or system settings.
- Right-click on the HP Officejet Pro 8600 and select 'See what's printing'.
- From the menu, choose 'Printer' and then 'Cancel All Documents'. This will clear the print queue.
Check Printer Status:
- Ensure the printer is not showing any error messages on its display, such as out of paper, a jam, or low ink.
- Also, check that all trays and covers are properly closed.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Go to the 'Devices and Printers' section in your control panel.
- Right-click on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 and select 'Remove device'.
- Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your model. Be sure to select the drivers that match your operating system.
Set as Default Printer:
- Go back to 'Devices and Printers', right-click on your printer, and select 'Set as default printer'.
Print a Test Page:
- Right-click on the printer icon, select 'Printer properties', and then click on 'Print Test Page'. If this does not work, the issue might be more serious.
Printer Troubleshooter:
- Use the built-in troubleshooter provided by your operating system. For Windows, you can access this by typing 'troubleshoot' in the search box and selecting 'Troubleshoot settings'. Then follow the prompts for the printer troubleshooter.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
