My printer just got repaired recently and I even used it right after. But now, I cannot use it because of the “Print Failure” that is said on the screen whenever I’m printing. I tried to hide the message, but it just cancelled the printing job. I already tried to reset my printer, but it’s still like that. The copy and scan works properly, only the print. What could be the problem? Thanks a lot in advance!

@haven_, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are experiencing a print failure with your HP Smart Tank 615, here are some steps you can follow to identify and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check for Paper Jams

  • Make sure there are no paper jams in the printer. Paper jams can occur in different areas such as the input tray, output tray, inside the printer, or underneath the printer. Follow the steps for clearing paper jams as outlined in the user manual of your printer.

Step 2: Verify Paper and Ink

  • Ensure you have loaded the correct paper type and size, and enough paper is in the tray.
  • Check that your ink levels are adequate and refilled properly with the specified ink for the HP Smart Tank 615. Follow the guidelines for refilling the ink tanks using the correct ink bottle types.

Step 3: Check Printer Connections

  • Ensure the power cord and all cables are securely connected to the printer and power outlet.
  • For wireless printing, verify that the printer is connected to your network properly.

Step 4: Printer Reset

  • Turn the printer off and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then reconnect the power source and turn the printer back on. Sometimes a simple reset can resolve printing issues.

Step 5: Perform Additional Maintenance

  • Clean the paper feed rollers to remove any dust or dirt that might be preventing paper from feeding correctly.
  • Ensure no stuck print jobs are in the print queue by clearing the queue on your computer.

Step 6: Update or Install Printer Drivers

  • Verify that you have the latest print drivers installed on your computer. You can download the most recent drivers from the HP Support website.
