We recently (2-3) weeks ago purchase the Color Laser Jet Pro MFP 3301sdw. It work for a few days but now is stuck in this Print Failure message with error code 50.03.00. We unplug and let it sit for 30-40 mins but still no solution. We switched to a different power supply directly to the wall outlet. But still no answer. What else can I do?

Hi @oscardiaz10

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Error code 50.03.00 on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301sdw indicates a fuser warm-up failure. Since power resets haven’t resolved it, the next step is to perform a cold reset and check for firmware updates.

Step-by-Step: Resolve Print Failure 50.03.00 on HP MFP 3301sdw

1. Perform a Cold Reset

  • Power off the printer completely.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the wall.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Press and hold the Cancel button on the printer.
  • While holding Cancel, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
  • Continue holding Cancel until the printer begins initializing.

This forces a full hardware reset and may clear the fuser error state.

2. Check for Firmware Update

Visit: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301sdw Firmware and Drivers

Download and install the latest firmware utility for your operating system.

Follow on-screen instructions to update via USB or network.

Firmware updates can resolve fuser initialization issues and improve error handling.

3. Inspect for Environmental Factors

  • Ensure the printer is in a cool, dry location with stable power.
  • Avoid using surge protectors or extension cords during troubleshooting.
  • Confirm that the paper tray is loaded correctly and no jam is present.

Fuser warm-up can fail if the printer detects unstable power or physical obstructions.

4. Run HP App Diagnostics

  • Open the HP App on your PC or mobile device
  • Go to Support > Printer Diagnostics
  • Run the Hardware Scan and Print Test

This may detect internal faults and guide you through recovery steps.

Let me know how the printer responds after the cold reset and firmware update. If needed, I can guide you through preparing a clean startup or checking fuser status via the Embedded Web Server.

You're doing everything right—this sequence should help restore reliable printing.
