Hi @CDCAKE ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY 6022e All-in-One Printer, the "tri-colour cartridge not communicating" error usually indicates an issue with the cartridge or its connection to the printer. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check the Cartridge Placement:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the cartridge access door and ensure the tri-colour cartridge is securely seated in its slot.
- Press the cartridge down gently until it clicks into place.
2. Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the cartridge access door and carefully remove the tri-colour cartridge.
- Using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water, gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridge and the corresponding contacts inside the printer.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.
3. Reset the Printer:
- Turn the printer off and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
4. Try a New Cartridge:
- If the problem persists, the tri-colour cartridge might be faulty. Try installing a new genuine HP cartridge.
5. Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can update the firmware via the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website for your printer model.
6. Printer Hard Reset (Optional):
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cable from both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
