Hi @Winks47,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e printer is showing a printhead error on your iOS device. Try restarting both the printer and your iOS device, then re-add the printer in the HP Smart app

1. Troubleshooting Printhead Issues:

  • Restart Devices: Unplug the printer, wait 60 seconds, and then plug it back in. Restart your iPhone or iPad as well.
  • Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure both your printer and iOS device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and that the connection is stable.
  • Check Printer Status: Look at the printer's control panel for any error messages or indicators.

2. Check for Obstructions:

Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams or debris that might be interfering with the printhead carriage.

Printhead Reset:

  • Remove all ink cartridges.
  • Remove the printhead.
  • Unplug the printer while it's on.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Reinstall the printhead and then the ink cartridges.

Clean Printhead Electrical Contacts:

  • Caution: These steps involve removing the printhead, so be prepared to complete the cleaning steps quickly.
  • Open the lid to the printhead access area.
  • Read the error message to identify which printhead(s) are affected.
  • Move the printhead carriage to the left.
  • Clean the contacts on the printhead(s) mentioned in the error message.
