Hi @Briskman,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's possible that the issue with your HP Photosmart D110 printer is related to dried ink cartridges, but there could be other factors at play as well. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to try to resolve the issue.

  • Check Ink Levels: Most printers, including the HP Photosmart D110, have a way to check the ink levels. You can usually do this through the printer's control panel or by using the printer software on your computer. Make sure that the ink cartridges have enough ink remaining.
  • Clean Print Heads: Over time, print heads can become clogged with dried ink, especially if the printer hasn't been used for a while. Most printers have a built-in utility for cleaning the print heads. You can usually find this option in the printer's settings menu.
  • Replace Ink Cartridges: If the ink cartridges are empty or nearly empty, replace them with new ones. Even if the cartridges still have some ink left, they may be dried out or clogged, especially if they are old.
  • Align Printer Heads: Some printers have an alignment option that ensures the print heads are properly aligned. This can help improve print quality.
  • Use Genuine Ink Cartridges: While it may be tempting to save money by using third-party or refilled ink cartridges, these can sometimes cause issues with print quality and printer performance. Whenever possible, use genuine HP ink cartridges.
  • Check Paper Quality: Make sure you're using the correct type and size of paper for your printer. Low-quality or incompatible paper can sometimes cause printing problems.
  • Restart Printer: Sometimes simply turning the printer off and then back on again can resolve minor issues.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers and firmware installed for your printer. You can usually download these from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
