Have searched through the main trouble shooting, but all the options given aren't relevant to what I see in front of me. There isn't an option to change printer type or quality, regardless of what HP claims (and quite frankly, if there was I would've done that already). Printer utility won't talk to the printer either. Basically it prints everything as a draft - and that's pretty much the only option I'm given.

What operating system are you printing from?
Follow Step 6 below to Print and evaluate a print quality report.
If you see any print quality problem be sure to follow the steps to troubleshoot print quality defects:
