HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer

I am facing alignment issue with Printer 3830. Whenever I print or try to follow the alignment steps a page is pulled by the printer but it just gets into the printer half way. This page is also pulled in a tilted way and that why printer is not able to pull the whole page in to print it.

I tried all the steps for alignment and other videos online but no success. Major reason is that page only get's in half way in a tilted way and the I have pull it out and it doesn't work.

@PName, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand you're facing an alignment issue with your HP OfficeJet 3830 where the page feeds in halfway and at an angle. This is typically caused by a paper feed or hardware issue, and I’ll guide you through steps to resolve it.

Check for Obstructions

  • Power off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Open the input tray and inspect for any jammed paper, debris, or foreign objects.
  • Use a flashlight if needed to check deep inside the paper path.
  • Gently remove any obstructions.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

Load Paper Correctly

  • Use clean, wrinkle-free, plain white paper.
  • Fan the stack to prevent sticking.
  • Make sure the paper width guides are snug but not tight.
  • Avoid overloading the tray.

Reset the Printer

  • With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the back.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power and turn it on. This can clear temporary hardware glitches.

Try a Printer Alignment Again

  • On the printer control panel, go to: Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printer
  • If the page still feeds incorrectly, skip alignment and try a copy or print job to test paper feed.

Update Firmware (Optional but Recommended)

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware
