Hi @Diane4343,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP+ printer suddenly stopped printing with an account-related error, even though original HP cartridges are installed and the printer worked fine before. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Power reset the printer
Turn the printer on, then unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and the wall outlet.
Wait 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet, and turn the printer back on.

Confirm printer is signed in to the correct HP account
Open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
Make sure you are signed in to the same HP account that was used when the printer was first set up.

Check printer status in HP Smart
In HP Smart, select your printer and look for any alerts or account messages.
HP+ printers require an active HP account connection to function normally.

Verify internet connection
Ensure the printer is connected to Wi-Fi and shows “Ready” or “Online” in HP Smart.
A temporary loss of internet can trigger this message even with original cartridges.

Restart your router
Power off the router for 60 seconds, then turn it back on.
Once the network is stable, restart the printer again.

Re-add the printer in HP Smart
Open HP Smart, remove the printer from the app, and then add it again.
This refreshes the HP+ account link and clears sync issues.

Check cartridge authentication
Remove all cartridges, then reinstall them firmly until they click into place.
Close the cartridge door and wait for the printer to finish initializing.

Allow firmware to finish updating
If the printer recently updated firmware, leave it powered on and connected to Wi-Fi for at least 10–15 minutes.
Interruptions during firmware or account sync can temporarily block printing.

I hope this helps.
