HP Officejet 5740

The printer I am having issues with is an HP Officejet 5740. My Printer is not directly hooked to any computer. We have always used it for wireless printing from multiple Laptops, PCs and phones. The error message I get is on the  display on the printer itself. It is a blue screen with a round circle picture and the number 01773b18. I have tried resetting the printer and also unplugging and replugging but it will not display anything but this screen. Any ideas?

I see that the printer is in an error state, let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-

 

Remove the ink cartridges and reset the printer

  1. Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.

  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  3. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE: 

    HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  6. Turn the printer on.

  7. Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.

  8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration or alignment page, do so.

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

Try printing.
