Working with Hp OfficeJet Pro 8710 and when I try to print documents, it will take several minutes to hours to print. Then about every other print job is printed short, so sometimes it's 25% of the page is printed. I have tried messing around with settings and matching other printers settings/preferences and can't get it to work. I ran the diagnostics through the app and nothing comes back on that. I need to get this resolved.

Hi @SethCoy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing some frustrating issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Check Printer Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless connection, check the Wi-Fi signal strength and stability. A weak or unstable connection can cause printing issues.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues with certain documents or printing software.
  • Check Print Queue: If print jobs are taking too long to start, there might be a backlog in the print queue. Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any pending print jobs. Then try printing again to see if it speeds up.
  • Paper and Ink Levels: Check the paper tray to ensure it's properly loaded with the correct size and type of paper. Also, make sure the ink or toner cartridges have sufficient levels. Low ink or toner can result in incomplete prints.
  • Print Quality Settings: Adjust the print quality settings in the printer preferences. Sometimes, setting the print quality too high can slow down printing or cause errors. Try lowering the print quality and see if it improves printing speed and accuracy.
  • Printer Driver: Ensure that you have the correct printer drivers installed on your computer. If the drivers are outdated or corrupted, it can lead to printing issues. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website and install them on your computer.
  • Reset Printer: Try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues with the printer's settings. Refer to the printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to reset your specific model.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the printing issues you're experiencing with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
