I have tried following instructions elsewhere about this error 0x6100004a but having removed the cartridges and then unplugged as instructed the print head won't move to the middle to allow me to replace the cartridges. The problem I had was error messages in the following sequence 1) Not turned off correctly (It WAS turned off correctly), then 2) Paper Jam - there is NO paper jam I have removed all covers. had the print tray right out and replaced. There is definitely NO paper jam. Then finally 3) with the error 0x6100004a. I am REALLY FRUSTRATED. Please can anyone help ????!!!!

I tried that but it just ended up saying it was out of warranty and that I could try to get it repaired but I suspect that would cost more than buying a replacement.

Yes at this point I would recommend you buying a new Printer.
