HP OfficeJet 4650
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just started receiving this message on my HP OfficeJet 4650. I have always used original HP ink since I am on your program to receive them. Ink has been in the printer for a few weeks and I have printed before with the same ink cartridges no problem. Here is the message...

Printer Failure
0x61000072
There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn the printer off, then on. If you continue to get this message, contact HP.

Here is what I have tried with no success....

I have turned off the printer by hitting the power off button and waiting for it to shut down. When I power it back on, it says it was not shut down properly...but it was.

I have tried unplugging the printer and waiting 15 minutes to hookup and turn back on.

I have tried removing the ink cartridges and placing them back in and restarting.

I have cleaned the ink contacts as well.

What can I do?

Looks like I fixed it. Here is what I had to do.

Open the lid, take out the cartridges, use a DRY q-tip and clean the contacts on the ink cartridge trays. Then I used a compressed air to blow on it. Then I installed brand new HP Inks and it worked.
