My printer was working just fine, then ran out of color ink. I replaced the color inkjet cartridges, and it would no print. The message in the window says, "Printer Failure. There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP."
I switched it off, then on. I unplugged, then plugged it back in. I contacted HP through the virtual assistant, and got no help.
Can someone please help me?

Hi @BAToby
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your printer. The "Printer Failure" message can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that the new ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove them and reseat them, making sure they click into place.
- Check for any protective tape or packaging that might still be on the cartridges.
Reset the Printer:
- With the printer on, unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there is any firmware update available for your printer. You can do this through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP website.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- For some HP printers, you can perform a hard reset by holding down the power button for about 15 seconds while the printer is on, then releasing it. This can sometimes clear error messages.
Check for Blockages:
- Inspect the printer for any paper jams or debris that might be causing the issue. Clear any obstructions you find.
Clean Printhead:
- If your printer has a printhead cleaning function (available in the printer settings or software), run that process to clean any clogged nozzles.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
