Hi @Bahgi1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message you're encountering, "There is a problem with the printer or ink system," typically indicates an issue with the printer’s ink system or internal components. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the printer from the power outlet and wait for 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn the printer on to see if the error clears.

Check the Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and remove the ink cartridges.
  • Check if the cartridges are properly seated and not damaged or clogged.
  • Clean the contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer using a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Reinsert the cartridges securely and close the access door.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure that there is no paper jam in the paper feed area or inside the printer.
  • If there is, carefully remove the jammed paper.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a hard reset by unplugging the printer from the power source.
  • Hold down the power button for 15 seconds to drain any remaining power.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues. Check for firmware updates by visiting the HP support website and entering your printer model.

Perform a System Diagnostic:

  • Some HP printers have a built-in diagnostic tool. You can check the printer's menu for any self-test or diagnostic options.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
