Hi @Sy1221,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 is encountering some mechanical issues. Let’s troubleshoot the problems step by step.
Paper Jam
Check the Paper Path:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Open all accessible doors (input tray, output tray, ink cartridge area) and carefully remove any jammed paper.
- Ensure there are no small bits of paper left inside.
Inspect the Rollers:
- Check the rollers inside the printer for stuck debris or paper remnants.
- Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.
Re-seat the Paper:
- Reload the paper in the input tray, ensuring it's aligned properly.
- Avoid overloading the tray, and use paper that is not bent or curled.
Run a Paper Feed Test:
- Turn the printer back on and try to print a test page to check for further jams.
Failed to Start Printer
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for 1-2 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Check for Errors on the Display:
- If you see error codes, note them down for additional troubleshooting.
Reset the Printer:
- Disconnect the power cord while the printer is on.
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.
Update Firmware:
- If the printer powers on, check for and install any firmware updates via the HP website or the HP Smart app.
Inspect Ink Cartridges:
- Open the ink cartridge access door and ensure the cartridges are properly seated.
- Remove and reinstall them if necessary.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
