I have a HP Office Jet Pro 8600.  When I try to print, I get the error message " One or more cartridges appear to be damaged."  I previously replaced the cartridge after the initial message said it was empty, now I get this damaged message with the new cartridge.  I'm getting this message for only one of my cartridges.

@Jeff763, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are getting an error with one of the ink cartridges. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

Make sure the ink cartridges are properly inserted in the printer, you may refer to - Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Ink cartridge error

If the error persists even after replacing the ink cartridge, or the same error for 2 different ink cartridges, I'm afraid the printhead has gone bad.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
