HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello All,

I have a HP ENVY 5530. Printer is great and this is the first issue i can't solve. I keep getting an error on my computer when trying to print using this printer. The printer shows with the name and small letters showing "no toner/ink" similar to when you see an offline message. I know the printer is missing the color cartridge but it is on single cartridge mode and it does print but it does not take printing jobs from by PC. i believe the PC communication with the printer is incorrect as it thinks that because one cartridge is missing the printer will not work and it stops the jobs and leaves them in the queue. Is there a way i can have the PC refresh and hopefully see that the printer is online and ready for use ? maybe the easies way is just to buy the color cartridge but this should be preventing me from printing in black only . Thank you for the help.

Hello HelpMe20251,

Thanks for reaching us out.

Try the below steps and help me know if the issue is sorted:

>>Power reset:
Power off the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet and wait for 60 seconds.
Now, connect the plug and turn On the printer and help me know if the issue is sorted.

>>Clear the PC’s Printer Queue:
In the Start Menu, type services.msc
Find Print Spooler
Right-click → Stop

Go to:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
Delete ALL files (these are stuck print jobs)

Go back to Services → Right-click Print Spooler → Start.

>>Remove and Re-Add the printer.

>>Install the latest print drivers from HP Support:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

>> Try printing from the HP App
