HP ENVY 120 e-ALL-in-One Series ( model number SDGOB-1201)
I have had this printer for a few years and haven't had any issues. Suddenly it stiped working and i have a blue screen with a number "B86337A8" - i can't do anything with the printer and i am trying to contact the customer service and the portal asks for a serial number and the number I have on the printer doesn't seem to work! I bought this from "Currys - UK".
Can I get this working or should I buy a new printer?

Hi @Nac2025,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I can truly understand how frustrating it must be to see your HP ENVY 120 e-All-in-One Printer suddenly stop working after years of reliable use, especially when you're greeted by a blue screen with the code “B86337A8” or sometimes just a blank display. You’ve already tried the right steps, and I’m here to help you move forward.
1. Perform a Full Power Reset
- Unplug the printer from power.
- Wait at least 2 minutes.
- Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds while unplugged.
- Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
- Turn it on and check if the screen loads normally.
2. Try a Firmware Recovery (if screen responds)
If the screen shows anything other than blank:
- Connect the printer via USB to a Windows PC.
- Download the Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support
- Run the utility to attempt a firmware recovery.
3. Check Serial Number Format
HP’s support portal sometimes fails to recognize older serial numbers. Try entering the product number instead:
- For your model, use: SDGOB-1201 or CZ022A
- Visit the HP ENVY 120 e-All-in-One Printer series - Troubleshooting | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
