My printer is stuck in a printhead loop. When restarted (unplugged or powered down) it will tell me I need to allign the printhead. I follow the instructions and it gets stuck with the progress bar that keeps spinning. I have tried restarting and  unplugging and even replaced the ink cartridges with ones HP sent me. I cant reset it I cant print with it. It is stuck in one big loop. Please advise.

Hi @tornado74,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating dealing with this issue. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the printhead loop problem with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check the Printhead and Cartridges:

  • Open the printer's access door to expose the printhead and ink cartridges.
  • Make sure the printhead is properly seated in its carriage.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and check for any obstructions or damage.
  • Reinsert the cartridges and ensure they click into place securely.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Sometimes, cleaning the printhead manually can help. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to clean the printhead area.

Run Printer Diagnostics:

  • If your printer has a built-in diagnostics tool, run it to check for any errors or issues. This can sometimes be accessed from the printer’s menu or through the HP Smart app.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve bugs. Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer by visiting the HP website or using the HP Smart app.

Factory Reset:

  • If the issue persists, you may need to perform a factory reset. This can usually be done through the printer's menu, but the exact steps can vary. Consult your printer’s manual or HP’s support website for specific instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
