I don't write reviews or complain, however today drained me! Today was the worst day ever experience dealing with technical support. An HP rep insisted on having remote access to assist in re-enrolling my printer after I was advised to disconnect it and cancel my membership to rectify the issue. Nothing helped. I advised him I lost free months of service due to this. He did not believe me and insisted on verification. I presented verification and he still provided assistance to questions I didn't ask, addressed issues I didn't bring up. Completely horrible. After over an hour on the phone, he disconnected the call and didn't call back as he stated he would if the call dropped. This was after sitting in a chat for over an hour waiting on a rep to respond in timely matter and not every 8-12 minutes with useless questions not addressing my concerns. The HP Ink subscription has been the worse decision we have made regarding printer and ink service. I requested a manager to call me back to discuss the issue, no return call. We paid $300 for this printer. Epson and Brothers were so much more reliable as standalone printing. We're currently looking at the Epson Eco Tank - Shaq endorsed!

P.s. NONE of the steps in the community help with validation, re-enrolling, or the HP Smart errors vs having the HP app on your phone. Two completely different interfaces.

NONE OF THE STEPS BELOW WORK!

******************************************************************************************************************************************

- Perform a power drain on the printer.

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

- Uninstall the printer software and restart the device from which you are trying to connect your printer.

- Install the printer software and Add the printer by clicking on the link.

- Re-enroll the printer once connected to the network again by clicking on the link. --

Hi @UNKNOWN20251,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can feel the frustration in your words, and I truly understand how exhausting it must have been to spend hours without getting the help you needed, especially after investing in a premium printer and trusting the HP Instant Ink service. You deserve a smooth experience, not a day full of stress and unanswered questions. Let’s take this step by step and get your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e back on track.

Here’s what I recommend, based on guidance for re-enrolling your printer in HP Instant Ink and fixing HP app issues:

Step 1: Make Sure Your Printer is Online and Ready

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Windows 11 PC.
  • On the printer control panel, tap the Wireless icon → confirm it shows Connected.
  • If not, run Wireless Setup Wizard:
Menu → Setup → Network Settings → Wireless Setup Wizard.

Step 2: Sign Out and Clear HP App Cache

  • On your Windows 11 PC, open the HP app.
  • Sign out of your HP account.
  • Close the app, then clear cache
    • Press Windows + R, type %appdata%, and delete the HP Smart folder.
  • Restart your PC.

Step 3: Uninstall HP Smart and Reinstall HP App

Step 4: Re-Enroll in HP Instant Ink

  • Open HP Smart and sign in with your HP account.
  • Click Instant Ink → Manage Subscription.
  • If your printer shows Not Enrolled, click Add Printer and follow prompts.
  • If you see errors, use HP’s official enrollment page:
    HP Instant Ink Enrollment

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
