@Flea5, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP printer is stuck in a "busy" state, which can be quite frustrating. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:
Cancel Any Pending Jobs
- Open the Printer Queue on your computer (you can find this in your printer settings).
- Cancel all pending print jobs, as a stuck job can cause the printer to remain in a "busy" status.
Restart Printer and Computer
- Turn off your printer and unplug it for about 30 seconds. Then plug it back in and power it on.
- Restart your computer to clear any potential connection issues.
Check for Paper Jams
- Inspect the printer for any paper jams or obstructions, especially around the paper path and output tray.
Check the Printer's Display for Errors
- Look for any error messages on the printer display panel (e.g., low ink, paper out, etc.) and resolve them if possible.
Reset the Print Spooler
- On your computer, search for “services.msc” in the Start menu.
- Find Print Spooler in the list, right-click it, and choose Restart.
Update Printer Drivers
- Ensure that your printer drivers are up-to-date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
Check Network Connection
- If you are using a networked printer, make sure it's properly connected to your Wi-Fi or wired network.
- Try printing from a different device to rule out network or device-specific issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
