Hi there - I have been using this printer to do wireless printing with no problems. It has to have a wired connection to the router, but I can print via my phone wirelessly.

Since I got a new router the printer hasn't been able to connect - the cable looks to be working as there are flashing green and amber lights when I connect it.

I've tried uninstalling and then re-installing the software but I can only do this when I've connected my laptop to the printer via a USB cable as the computer can't pick up the printer otherwise.

I've tried changing the IP address to that of the router (not really sure why), but that hasn't worked. When I try to open the printer's default IP address  via a browser it times out.  I'm really stuck and to top it all off I've lost my instructions... please can someone help, thanks in advance

If the printer cannot obtain a correct address automatically it is possible that there is a compatibility issue. We have run into the odd case where it was necessary to change the link speed of the network from automatic to a fixed 100 base speed.

Have you set the wired network settings to DHCP and cycled the power? If that does not work you may need to perform a factory restore. I have sent a private message with instructions.

Thanks, I have corrected the network settings and tried the factory restore but it hasn't worked. I can't ping the IP address from the computer and diagnostics (HP Print and Scan Doc) show that there is a problem unless I connect via a USB cable. I can print using that cable but I really want the airprint function to work again - I can't see any reason why using a new router would cause problems... any further thoughts?

Thanks again, Rachel

That worked - I'm now back in business - thank you so much for your help. Brilliant!
