Printer giving lots of errors lately. Have been able to shut off and fix. Today I got the blue screen errors w error numbers (kept changing). I was able to shut off and turn back on again but it seemed to have done a factory reset. After I entered everything it wouldn't print off my phone like I usually do. It changed IP #s. I tried to chg that and didn't work. Uninstalled app on phone, unplugged printer both ends. Still wouldn't print. Turned it off, restarted my phone. Tried to turn printer on and now won't turn on at all. Black screen. I've plugged and unplugged, I've held power button for 60 seconds. Nothing. Did It die? Help!

Hi @bbpolo,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you’re dealing with a series of issues that might indicate a serious hardware problem with your printer. Given that it won’t turn on at all after various troubleshooting steps, here’s a comprehensive guide to determine if your printer has indeed failed and what to do next:
1. Confirm Power Supply Issues:
Check Power Cable and Outlet:
- Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the printer and the power outlet.
- Try plugging the printer into a different power outlet to rule out issues with the current outlet.
Inspect Power Cable:
- Examine the power cable for any visible damage or fraying. If the cable is damaged, replacing it might solve the issue.
2. Perform a Hard Reset:
Unplug and Wait:
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds to allow any residual power to drain.
Replug and Power On:
- Plug the printer back into the power source and try turning it on again. Sometimes, a hard reset can clear temporary issues.
3. Check for Hardware Issues:
Listen for Sounds:
- When attempting to power on, listen for any unusual sounds like clicking or grinding, which might indicate internal hardware failure.
Check for Lights or Indicators:
- Observe if there are any lights or indicators on the printer that might provide clues about its status.
4. Test with a Different Power Source:
Use a Different Outlet:
- Plug the printer into a different power outlet to see if the issue persists.
Try a Different Power Cable:
- If possible, use a different power cable that is compatible with your printer model.
5. Check for Firmware or Software Issues:
Firmware Update:
- Although your printer won’t turn on, check the HP website for any firmware updates that might have caused issues if you can access the printer’s support resources.
Reset Network Settings:
- If the printer eventually turns on, reset the network settings to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi.
6. Consult Printer Manual:
- Refer to Troubleshooting Section:
- Consult the printer’s manual for any specific troubleshooting steps related to power or startup issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
