HP Recommended

Mac OS 14, new printer (M255dw) set up ok but 2 problems (1) printer does not recognise Word documents so can't print, (2) colour on printing other docs fades at one end. Now also coming up with "There is a problem with your printer". Any suggestions? With thanks.
