I own an hp laptop running windows 11:

it decidely won’t print, except when feeling helpful I guess. One page if your lucky:

i thought it was a printer issue, but can print from my iPhone fine:

drivers all up to date: power on / off not helpful, and couldn’t do that for every page anyway.

the printer is wired to the router, did not fix the problem.

i can see the print que: but it won’t clear most of them, and is slow to do when it does

Hi @Gf41,

Thank you for the response.

Try these steps:

Restart the Print Spooler Service:

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter.
  • In the Services window, look for Print Spooler.
  • Right-click on Print Spooler and select Stop.
  • Open File Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.
  • Delete all files in this folder to clear the print queue.
  • Return to the Services window, right-click on Print Spooler again, and select Start.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure the printer is set as the default printer.
  • Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer, and choose Set as default if it's not already.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP support website and navigate to drivers for your printer model.
  • Download the latest driver updates and install them.
  • Alternatively, uninstall the printer from your laptop and reinstall it with the latest drivers.

Clear Print Jobs from Command Prompt:

  • Search for "Command Prompt" and select Run as administrator.
  • Use the command net stop spooler to stop the spooler service.
  • Use the command del /Q /F /S "%systemroot%\System32\spool\PRINTERS\*.*" to delete print jobs.
  • Type net start spooler to restart the spooler service.

Check Network Connection:

  • If your printer is wired to the router, ensure that your laptop is correctly connected to the same network.
  • Run a network diagnostic tool via Settings > Network & Internet to identify potential network issues.

Try Printing a Test Page:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and choose Manage.
  • Click Print a test page to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.
