I'm afraid that your suggestions did not solve the problem and the HP Printers - Print Settings Guide (Mac) didn't either, as my computer didn't have either a Show Details button or a Presets menu and I didn't know how to find the equivalent. I was helped by a Mac expert who told me to remove and then add the printer, as you suggested, and then to select the HP 6032 print driver, rather than the default Apple AirPrint, in the "Use' box. This worked, so I hope if others have the same problem and are reading this, it will help them.
