Hi @SB2329

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The C5.F7.F5.0B error you're encountering is a critical system error with your printer. This error typically indicates an internal hardware issue or a firmware problem that the printer can't recover from on its own.

Here are the steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the error:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

Even though you've tried unplugging the printer, let’s do a more thorough power cycle to ensure it’s properly reset:

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button (if the control panel is responsive).
  2. Unplug the printer from both the power outlet and any network cables (such as the Ethernet cable).
  3. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes to ensure the printer has completely powered down.
  4. Plug the printer back in and turn it back on to see if the error clears.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

If a simple power cycle didn’t help, try doing a hard reset of the printer:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall.
  2. While it is unplugged, press and hold the power button on the printer for 30 seconds to drain any remaining power.
  3. After 30 seconds, release the power button, plug the printer back in, and turn it on.

This can help clear any temporary system errors.

3. Check for Firmware Updates

It’s possible that a firmware glitch is causing the error. Check if there are any available updates to the printer's firmware:

  1. Go to HP’s official support page for your printer model (search for your printer’s exact model number).
  2. Download the latest firmware and follow the instructions to update it.
  3. If the printer is offline, you may need to connect it to your computer via USB temporarily to complete the firmware update.

4. Reset the Printer via HP Smart App

If you can access your printer through the HP Smart app (mobile or desktop version), try to reset the printer settings through the app:

  1. Open the HP Smart app.
  2. Select your printer from the list of devices.
  3. Look for options like Restore Defaults, Factory Reset, or Reset Network Settings.
  4. Follow the prompts to reset the printer.

5. Disconnect the Printer from the Network

Since the printer shows as offline, it could be an issue with the network connection:

  1. Disconnect the printer from your Wi-Fi network by using the control panel, or reset its network settings.
  2. Reconnect it either via USB or Wi-Fi depending on your preference.
  3. Try printing again after ensuring the printer is connected to your network.

I hope this helps.
