I keep getting the E0 error - cartridges incompatable. I have changed them twice. They are correct. I have downloaded updates. It still shows this error.

@KPCurran The E0 error on your HP printer typically indicates a problem with the ink cartridges. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

  1. Ensure Cartridge Compatibility: Double-check that the cartridges you are using are the correct models for your specific HP printer model. It's essential to use Genuine HP cartridges as non-HP or previously used cartridges may trigger this error.

  2. Check Cartridge Installation:

    • Open the cartridge access door and ensure that the cartridges are installed correctly in their respective slots.
    • Gently press down to ensure they are securely in place.
    • Make sure there is no plastic tape covering the cartridge contacts.
  3. Inspect for Damage:

    • Remove the cartridges and examine the electrical contacts.
    • If you notice any dirt or residue, clean the contacts gently with a lint-free cloth.
  4. Restart the Printer:

    • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait a minute, and then plug it back in.
    • Turn the printer back on to see if this resolves the error.
  5. Printer Firmware Updates:

    • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware updates, as these can resolve many issues, including cartridge compatibility problems.
  6. Reset the Printer: As a last resort, performing a full reset of the printer might help. However, keep in mind that this step will revert any settings to default.
